Step into a 360° immersive experience that puts you at the heart of humanity's greatest journey. Co-created and narrated by Tom Hanks, The Moonwalkers invites audiences of all ages to feel the wonder, courage, and thrill of humanity's quest to explore the Moon. Through stunning projections, soaring orchestral sound, and rare Nasa footage, you'll relive the Apollo missions and glimpse the future through Artemis.

Always fascinated by space exploration, Tom Hanks brings us back to the legendary adventure of the Apollo missions. Through spectacular images and engaging conversations with Artemis astronauts, he leads us into the heart of humanity's grand return to the Moon.

Cutting-edge immersive 360◦ visuals and sound A restored collection of NASA images with spatialized sound for a spectacular immersive experience

This immersive experience blends NASA archival footage with photographs from the original Apollo program films. Thousands of images taken on the Moon, restored by expert Andy Saunders, are projected on a grand scale, revealing details that were previously invisible. Presented in English with Dutch subtitles, the narration offers a perspective that is both personal and insightful on space history.

Remastered NASA Imagery & Exclusive interviews A distinguished artistic team

The experience, co-created by Tom Hanks and writer Christopher Riley, harmonizes documentary rigor with emotional power. The original score, composed by Anne Nikitin (known for her work on the Apple TV+ series Hijack and the film American Animals), was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, imbuing the experience with a truly cinematic dimension.

    Parking is available at the Q-Park Westergasfabriek parking garage. You can reserve a parking space at Q-Park at a discounted rate using this link. From the parking garage, it's a 10 minute walk to Fabrique des Lumières.

    Suitable for all ages, recommended for children aged 6 and up. Due to the noise and lighting effects, visits with children under 3 years of age are not advised.

What can I expect from this experience? Narrated by Tom Hanks, The Moonwalkers invites viewers of all ages to experience the wonder, courage, and emotion of the conquest of the Moon. Through spectacular projections, stirring orchestral music, and never-before-seen NASA footage, you will relive the Apollo missions and discover the future of space exploration with Artemis. Through personal anecdotes, interviews with astronauts, and historic moments, this extraordinary journey pays tribute to the spirit of discovery and humanity's ability to push the boundaries of the impossible.
Does the experience take place in an indoor or outdoor venue? It takes place in Fabrique des Lumières, an indoor venue.
Where is Fabrique des Lumières? The exhibition is located at Fabrique des Lumières, Pazzanistraat 33, 1014 DB Amsterdam.
How long does the experience last? The experience lasts an average of 50 minutes.
Is there parking nearby? You can reserve a parking space at Q-park in advance with a discount through this link. Fabrique des Lumières is approximately an 8-minute walk (600 meters) from the parking garage. Upon presentation of a disabled parking card at the on-site gate keeper, a limited number of parking spaces are available directly at the Westergasbrug for a maximum of 3 hours (except for during festivals). Disabled parking spaces are also available in the Q-park Westergasfabriek parking garage.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased via the Fever app (You can download on App Store d'Apple or Google Play) or on the Fever website.

On-site ticketing is also available, but please note that we do not accept cash.

We recommend that you book your tickets in advance to secure a time slot and avoid unnecessary waiting times.

What methods of payment can I use to buy my tickets online? You can pay by credit card, Apple Pay, Paypal or Google Pay.
How do I know if my order has been successful?

Once payment has been made, you will receive an email confirming your purchase.

Do I have to print my ticket? No, you can present your ticket on your smartphone.
Can I transfer my tickets to another person? Yes, you may.

Are refunds allowed? What is the exchange policy?

Subject to availability, changes of date and/or time are permitted any moment before the start time of your experience.

Refunds are not allowed under any circumstances.

I won't be able to attend the reserved time slot, can I come to the one before or the one after?

Tickets are only valid for the date and time you have chosen.

However, if you are running late, you can arrive up to half an hour after the booked start time (this does not apply to the last start time of an exhibition).

The date I want is sold out. Can I buy tickets on site? Priority is given to buying tickets online. You may purchase tickets on site, subject to availability.

Ticket types

Do you offer passes for journalists? Press card holders benefit from free admission upon presentation of a valid press identity card. Please send a request for free admission to: helpdesk@fabrique-lumieres.com.
Who is eligible for the family rate? The family rate is available for 2 adults + 2 young people (aged from 5 to 17 years old).
Is there a discount for 65+ and accompanying persons? There is no separate rate for people over 65, you may choose our adult rate.
I'd like to visit Fabrique des Lumières as a group. How do I make my reservation? If you would like to visit with a group of 12 people or more, please send a request to groepen@fabrique-lumieres.com.
Are the Museum Card, ICOM Card and Vriendenloterij VIP-Card valid at Fabrique des Lumières? No, the Museum Card, ICOM Card and Vriendenloterij VIP-Card are not valid.
Do I need to make a reservation in advance for children under 5? Admission for children under the age of 5 is free, but they still require a ticket, which you can arrange online or at the ticket booth. Excluding for The Sea exhibition, where children under the age of 3 years are allowed free entry.
Is the Stadspas valid at Fabrique des Lumières? Visit 1 exhibition per month for free with the Stadspas upon presentation of your card. Tickets cannot be reserved online, but can be arranged at the ticket desk on-site.

Access to the event

Is there an age requirement? The experience is suitable for all ages and recommended for children from 6 years old.
Is seating available in the exhibition areas? We have a total of 40 seats available in the main exhibition space, the Hall. A limited number of foldable chairs are available at the entrance.
Are there accessible toilets? Yes, there are accessible toilets available at the venue
Is the site accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Fabrique des Lumières is accessible for people with reduced mobility, with the exception of the tiered seating in the Hall (which will not affect your overall experience).

There is a disabled toilet available, as well as two wheelchairs - our staff members are at your disposal for assistance.

Do you offer carer tickets? Visitors who are unable to navigate their way through the museum independently may bring a companion free of charge. Please provide the name of the companion and the date of the visit at least 2 working days before your visit by contacting us at helpdesk@fabrique-lumieres.com. On the day of the visit, your companion will receive a free admission ticket at the ticket desk.
Are the exhibits suitable for people suffering from epilepsy and/or vertigo? Due to the effects of light, the exhibits may present risks for people suffering from epilepsy or vertigo.
Is the experience accessible to people with hearing or visual impairments? The experience relies on both visual and auditory elements that may be difficult to perceive without full vision or hearing. For your safety and comfort, we therefore do not recommend participation for individuals who are hard of hearing or visually impaired.
Can I bring animals? Are service dogs allowed? Pets are not permitted at Fabrique des Lumières - with the exception for assistance dogs.
Can I bring a suitcase to Fabrique des Lumières? A guarded cloakroom with lockers is available at Fabrique des Lumières. Suitcases are not permitted.
Can I bring a stroller? For safety reasons, strollers are not allowed inside. A designated area is available at the entrance where you can leave them during your visit. Please note that strollers are not supervised and are left at your own risk. We recommend bringing a baby carrier instead.
Is coat check available? Yes, lockers are available at Fabrique des Lumières. They are free to use and come in various sizes. Suitcases are not permitted.
Is there a Lost & Found? If you've lost something, send an email to helpdesk@fabrique-lumieres.com, including the date and a description of the item you lost.
Can I take photos and videos of the exhibition? Yes, you may take pictures and videos. Please note that flash photography is not permitted, as to not disturb other visitors.
Is there a store? Yes, our shop offers a wide selection of original souvenirs inspired by the current experiences. The gift shop is open during the museum’s opening hours and is accessible to both visitors and non-ticket holders.
